New hires will shadow existing surgeons, gaining practical experience across various surgical fields before being integrated into the on-call roster.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in high-stakes surgical emergencies as needed
• Collaborate effectively with in-house surgical teams
• Maintain a quick response time to hospital requests
• Engage in mentorship to enhance surgical proficiency
• Outline development goals in surgical skills
Requirements:
• Current licensing with the College of Physicians of BC
• Canadian Medical Protective Association membership required
• Surgical expertise is advantageous but not essential
• Commitment to a minimum of two years in service
• Participation in comprehensive onboarding training
