Overview
On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Security Engineer to join our Client's team on a Contract basis. This role is Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) and the Client is based in Richmond, BC
.
The Security Engineer will be a key member of the Dev Sec Ops team, focused on embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle. This includes threat modeling, secure design and code reviews, penetration testing, and integration of security tools into CI/CD pipelines. The role supports secure architecture design and ensures compliance with security policies.
Duties & Responsibilities- Perform secure code reviews, secure design reviews, and penetration testing (black and white box).
- Conduct threat modeling during product/application design and architecture.
- Implement SCA/SAST/DAST tools and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain Azure security policies and ensure secure cloud deployments.
- Develop and sustain security building blocks across the Dev Ops lifecycle.
- Manage vulnerability and risk management processes throughout SDLC.
- Define security controls and consult on user stories for secure design.
- Deliver secure coding and hacking technique training to developers.
- Lead POC and deployment of new security technologies.
- Participate in incident response and monitor security throughout development.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM field
- Minimum of 6 years in progressively complex security engineering roles
- Relevant security certification (e.g., CISSP, CEH)
- Expertise in SCA/SAST/DAST, threat modeling, penetration testing, and layered security controls
- Knowledge of AI technologies security design and controls
- Experience embedding security tools in CI/CD environments
- Strong manual code review and architecture design skills
- Familiarity with Azure cloud security
- Background in conducting secure design reviews
- Ability to coordinate with Dev Ops teams to integrate secure practices
This is a 12-month contract role based in Richmond, BC, with a hybrid work arrangement of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week. The successful candidate will be required to undergo both a reference check and a background check prior to receiving an offer.
