Data Science Intern – Boeing Vancouver
Full‑time internship based at our Richmond, British Columbia office for up to 8 months, starting in early September 2026. The role reports to the Data Science Manager and requires combining development and analytical skills to solve complex problems for internal and external customers.
Responsibilities- Work directly with an assigned mentor or buddy.
- Collaborate closely with customers and stakeholders to understand their business problems.
- Conduct exploratory analysis and dataset characterizations.
- Research and propose appropriate technologies or methods to address business problems.
- Execute data science and analytics project tasks.
- Coordinate internal documentation and quality reviews.
- Communicate technical approaches, assumptions, needed help, and business outcomes to the project team, analytics leadership, and customers.

- Full‑time student currently enrolled at an accredited university or college in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline.
- At least a second‑year student in a relevant program.
- Experience working with Python.
- Willing and able to work 40 hours per week during the internship.
- Consent to Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment and eligibility to work on government and defense‑related programs.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Must not pose a risk for safeguarding controlled goods.
- Eligibility to handle U.S. export‑controlled data.
- Experience with Apache Spark and/or Databricks.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
- Experience in collaborative development environments and version control (e.g., Git Lab).
- Previous internship experience.
- Working toward a Master’s degree.
- Domain knowledge in aviation & aerospace.
- Project management knowledge (PMBOK, Agile, Kanban).
- Experience with Natural Language Processing, Reliability Analytics, Predictive Maintenance, and Time Series Forecasting.
- Graduates are ineligible unless continuing in post‑graduate studies.
Hourly rate: $23.50 – $27.00 CAD, based on post‑secondary education level, qualifications, and experience. Position is hybrid; some onsite work at Richmond may be required at the hiring team’s discretion. Relocation assistance is not provided; candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Additional InformationThis requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canadian regulations and are not on a Boeing US‑based payroll. Employee status: not expatriate. The role requires active or ability to obtain a Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment. No visa sponsorship is provided.
