Network Administrator / Platform Specialist

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Network Administrator / Platform Specialist to support secure, mission-critical infrastructure environments. This role will be responsible for managing network, server, virtualization, and security technologies while working closely with both technical teams and end customers.

Responsibilities

Configure and support Cisco switches, firewalls, and network infrastructure

Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across switching, routing, and firewall environments

Administer Linux and Windows systems, including Active Directory and Group Policy

Support VMware/vSphere or other virtualization platforms

Manage storage technologies including SAN/NAS, iSCSI, SMB, and NFS

Implement security controls, STIG hardening, logging, and compliance activities

Support DNS, NTP, SIEM, and monitoring solutions

Develop automation using scripting and configuration management tools

Create and maintain technical documentation and network diagrams

Work within highly secure and air-gapped environments

Required Qualifications

Diploma or degree in a technical discipline

4+ years of experience in networking, systems, or infrastructure administration

Strong networking knowledge with hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving issues

Experience managing firewalls and network security

Linux, Windows, and VMware (or equivalent hypervisor) experience

Knowledge of switching, routing, VLANs, STP, and OSPF/BGP

Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience

Experience working in a team-oriented, process-driven environment

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Ansible, Salt Stack, Terraform, or other automation tools

Active Directory and GPO administration

Net App or enterprise storage experience

SIEM, audit logging, MFA, RADIUS, and PKI administration

Security frameworks and knowledge bases

CCNA/CCNP certification or equivalent experience

A hands-on infrastructure professional with strong networking expertise, a security-first mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in secure enterprise environments while collaborating effectively with customers and technical teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.28/hr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Richmond,BC.
