BMW Group Financial Services is offering a well-rounded internship with the focus on realizing data-based sales performance that permeates from headquarter down to each single sales outlet within Canada. This role is a part of an interdisciplinary team with a start-up mentality to innovate within a traditional automotive OEM for premium cars.

What awaits you?

  • Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations with support from teammates.
  • Assist with reusable data assets, semantic models, calculated measures, standardized KPIs, and metric definitions.
  • Work on identified data quality issues, validate outputs against business requirements, and support resolution with relevant stakeholders.

Artificial Intelligence & Automation

  • Support requirements gathering and design process of AI and ML use cases.

    Support following up technical development and testing.
  • Contributes to projects involving Generative AI, Large Language Models, prompt engineering, orchestration, and agentic AI workflows.
  • Support implementing workflow automation solutions.

Data Governance & Documentation

  • Contribute maintaining data dictionaries, business glossaries, lineage documentation, KPI definitions, and analytical asset inventories.

Agile Delivery & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with teammates within Agile ways of working, including Scrum and Kanban, using JIRA. Participate in project planning, stand-ups, reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Communicate progress and contribute to timely delivery across multiple work streams.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the intern is expected to perform any other duties as assigned by BMW Canada Inc. from time to time.

What should you bring along?

  • Current student or recent graduate in Data Science, Data Analytics or a comparable course of studies.
  • Relevant analytics and/or BI related working experience and knowledge in data visualization programs like Tableau is preferred.
  • Coding experience in Python is required.
  • Practical experience across the AI/ML lifecycle, including data cleanup, feature selection, model development, parameter tuning and testing is preferred.
  • Exposure to process automation, including identifying manual or repetitive workflows and supporting the design or implementation of automated solutions.
  • Strong foundation in mathematics and statistics, with the ability to evaluate datasets and business requirements to support appropriate AI / Machine Learning model selection.
  • Exposure to Git/Git Hub, MCPs, cloud platforms is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel and knowledge in transactional & analytical data structure and SQL.
  • Willingness to work with various data related topics.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with an openness, motivation and hands-on mentality.

Compensation

The compensation range for this role is $47,000 - $49,000, with variations based on factors like experience, education and skills. Experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
