LEAN Facilitator
Role Overview:
The Lean Facilitator supports British Columbia manufacturers by assessing operations, facilitating Lean learning, and coaching teams to build sustainable operational excellence capability. This role works directly with CME member companies across BC, guiding practical improvement efforts aligned with business objectives. This is a field-based, member-facing role with significant time spent on manufacturing sites. While the position is remote, the Lean Facilitator must be comfortable traveling frequently and working hands‑on with frontline teams, supervisors, and leaders.
- Facilitate Lean training programs, workshops, kaizen events, and improvement sessions for CME member companies across British Columbia.
- Coach leaders, supervisors, and frontline teams on Lean principles, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement behaviours, with a strong focus on capability building rather than owning implementation.
- Conduct Business maturity assessments and operational diagnostics to identify gaps, constraints, and improvement opportunities aligned with business objectives.
- Support the development of practical improvement roadmaps and action plans, and provide follow‑up coaching to support sustainment and progress tracking.
- Work directly with CME member companies across a variety of manufacturing sectors, building trusted relationships with plant managers, engineers, supervisors, and executives.
- Support Lean consortiums, councils, and peer‑learning groups through facilitation, content delivery, and on‑site engagement.
- Travel regularly to member sites across British Columbia to deliver training, facilitation, and on‑site support.
- Collaborate with internal CME teams to align Lean services, programs, and member needs.
- Contribute to the development, refinement, and continuous improvement of CME Lean content, tools, and frameworks.
- Support documentation, reporting, and communication of outcomes, lessons learned, and program impact.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations (CI, quality, or operations leadership).
- Hands‑on experience applying Lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills.
- Positive energy and a growth mindset.
- Ability to work effectively with both frontline teams and senior leaders and all levels in between.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willing, able, and enthusiastic to travel 60‑70% of the time within BC.
- Preferred formal Lean training or certification (Green Belt, Black Belt).
- Exposure to a variety of manufacturing environments (discrete, process, food, metal, etc.).
- Fully remote/work‑from‑home role.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada for at least the next 1‑3 years.
- Mix of on‑site facilitation, training delivery, and remote follow‑up coaching.
- Flexibility to support multi‑day site visits and training sessions.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about Lean.
