Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week). Weekends and overtime may be required.

Fruit and vegetable manufacturing and processing plant. Cold/refrigerated, wet/damp, noisy.

• Experience:
  
  3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Area of specialization:
  Material handling equipment, hydraulics, electronics, electrical and mechanical servicing and repair
• Own tools/equipment:
  Steel-toed safety boots

• Handling heavy loads (up to 45 kg / 100 lbs)
• Physically demanding; standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling
• Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks

• Maintain and perform daily preventive maintenance on material handling equipment (including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
• Maintain battery room and chargers, including charging and changing batteries for material handling equipment
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools
• Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, hand and power tools
• Maintain equipment rooms in a neat and orderly fashion
• Maintain appropriate levels of material handling equipment maintenance supplies
• Follow through and complete all work orders
• Design, implement, and review daily operator's checklist procedures
• Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local guidelines, including OHS
• Perform other related duties as required
