Pro Ampac Flexstar, located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their fast-paced team!

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for promptly meeting the production goals and schedules under all quality standards. Responsibilities will specifically focus on supervising production employees and ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed. The Production Supervisor will also contribute to a positive team atmosphere and apply company guidelines and the collective agreement fairly and consistently. This position provides day-to-day support to the operations team, giving input on production process improvements, and is a resource for questions and clarification.

What

you will do.
  • Supervise the production staff with clear communication of the execution of the work following GMP and SOP requirements.

  • Liaise with other internal departments (Customer Service, Safety, HR, Maintenance, Quality) to solve production-related problems.

  • Perform annual performance evaluations, monitor attendance, and address performance issues.

  • Promote and participate in the plant’s safety programs and policies to reduce employee accidents and injuries by embracing safety training and always enforcing safety practices.

  • Promote a team-based work environment where continuous improvement initiatives, department performance and personal achievement are promoted and recognized.

  • Ensure KPI targets include safety, quality, efficiencies and cost.

  • Provide leadership, direction, guidance and support to plant personnel. Develop positive, motivating, and efficient communication with all employees.

  • Build and maintain employee relations through consistent facilitation of the labour agreement.

  • Facilitate team meetings and provide on-the-floor leadership to lead problem-solving efforts. Ensure the Company’s quality and sanitation standards are met through close liaison with the Quality Department.

  • Schedule employees to ensure production requirements are met on a timely basis.

  • Conduct regular crew talks to relay important information to production staff.

  • Provide daily shift reports and ad hoc production information when requested.

  • Audit and authorize all hourly payroll electronically in Kronos.

  • Ensure that all personnel under your direct supervision know company policies, procedures and safety rules.

When your expertise drives us.
  • Post-secondary education from a recognized college or technical institute. Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Experience in the Flexographic Printing industry is not required; however, it is considered a vital asset.

  • Experience successfully leading, coaching, motivating and developing a team with a “hands-on” approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.

  • Computer proficiency (MS Office programs: Outlook, MS Teams, Word & Excel).

  • Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, possess great initiative, and work well under pressure.

  • Able to work day, afternoon and night shifts, Monday to Friday and on-call weekend rotations.
