Title: Production Shift Supervisor

Location: Richmond, BC
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 2 days, 2 nights, then off for 4 days

The Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities to ensure operations run safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. This role supports production goals, coordinates shift activities, and ensures compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.

• Lead by example in workplace safety by promoting safe work practices, conducting safety meetings, completing inspections, and following up on safety-related actions.
• Supervise Process Operators and ensure they meet schedules, performance expectations, and operating requirements to achieve production targets.
• Monitor production areas, identify equipment or process issues, and coordinate corrective actions when needed.
• Evaluate equipment breakdowns, determine priority levels, and work with maintenance teams to resolve problems quickly.
• Support quality control efforts and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Keep accurate records of shift activities, including reports, work orders, repairs, and corrective actions.
• Maintain plant security during off-hours by managing site access, visitors, deliveries, and movement of materials.
• Carry out responsibilities related to First Aid, emergency response, and incident management when required.
• Implement instructions from the Production Coordinator and ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with operating procedures.
• Actively support and promote health, safety, and environmental policies while helping build a strong culture of safety throughout the workplace.

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis, failure investigations, and risk assessment methods.
• Ability to inspect equipment and identify unusual conditions through observation, sound, vibration, or other sensory indicators.
• Knowledge of equipment lubrication practices and the specific requirements for different types of machinery.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and instrumentation, including energy isolation procedures, basic troubleshooting, and awareness of electrical and arc flash hazards.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks, make sound decisions, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work well with employees, supervisors, and management.
• Commitment to following all workplace health and safety requirements, including the proper use of company‑approved personal protective equipment (PPE). Employees required to wear a respirator must maintain a clean‑shaven seal area to successfully complete required fit testing.

• Salary of $95K – $105K annually based on experience
