Our client, a well-established and respected leader in the food service and catering industry, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their growing operations team in Richmond, BC.

Reporting to the Executive Chef
, the Production Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing daily food production activities, leading frontline employees, and championing continuous improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for a motivated leader who is passionate about quality, efficiency, food safety, and team development.

Shift Schedule

This role operates on a rotating schedule that includes start times at 6:00am, 2:00pm, and 10:00pm. Supervisors must be available to be scheduled any day of the week and are scheduled on a rotational basis depending on operational needs.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, Coach & Develop Your Team
    • Provide day-to-day leadership for production employees in a unionized environment.
    • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, task assignments, and workflow management during your shift.
    • Train, mentor, and support employees to maximize performance and professional growth.
    • Establish performance expectations and monitor productivity to ensure team success.
    • Participate in employee development, promotions, coaching discussions, and progressive discipline processes when required.
    • Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to support operational goals.
  • Drive Production Excellence
    • Oversee daily food assembly and plating operations to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency.
    • Adjust staffing levels and production priorities based on operational demands and airline schedules.
    • Ensure products meet required specifications, quantities, quality standards, and service commitments.
    • Maintain compliance with company procedures, meal specifications, and production standards.
    • Apply Lean Manufacturing practices to improve workflows, eliminate waste, and increase productivity.
    • Support additional operational initiatives and responsibilities as needed.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement
    • Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Analyze operational performance and maintain records related to labour utilization and production controls.
    • Update and maintain operational databases and reporting systems.
    • Prepare reports using SAP MM, CBase, ADP Workforce Now, scheduling platforms, and spreadsheet tools.
    • Investigate operational issues, conduct root cause analysis, and assist with customer concern resolution.
  • Ensure Quality, Food Safety & Compliance
    • Promote a strong culture of food safety and quality assurance.
    • Ensure compliance with HACCP, Food Safe, sanitation, hygiene, and portion control requirements.
    • Monitor adherence to quality control standards and safe food handling procedures.
    • Enforce workplace safety practices in accordance with company policies and WorkSafeBC regulations.
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience of a unionized workforce
    , ideally within food manufacturing, food production, catering, or a similar environment.
  • Current HACCP and Food Safe Certification
    .
  • Proven leadership experience with a strong track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing employees.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to excel in a high-volume, fast-paced production setting.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, overtime, and statutory holidays.
  • Clean criminal background check.
