Communications & Marketing Coordinator

Richmond Christian School is seeking a Communications & Marketing Coordinator to join our Development team. This role plays a key part in shaping how our school communicates, tells its stories, and engages our community in support of our mission.

Richmond Christian School (RCS) is dedicated to “equipping all students to joyfully serve Christ in all aspects of life.” RCS is the educational home for more than 1,100 students from Early Learning through Grade 12.

Position Summary

The Communications & Marketing Coordinator leads school-wide communications, digital engagement, and fundraising promotion for Richmond Christian School. This role manages messaging, branding, and communication platforms to ensure that RCS families, alumni, and supporters are informed, connected, and inspired to participate and give.

Working closely with the Development team and school leadership, this position supports fundraising initiatives, community engagement, and public-facing communications while ensuring alignment with RCS values, branding, and strategic priorities.

This role offers the opportunity to creatively tell the story of Christ-centered education and contribute meaningfully to the mission and impact of Richmond Christian School.

Work Arrangement: in-person, with flexibility to be determined in consultation with the team.

Key Responsibilities Communications, Content & Digital Platforms
  • Produce and distribute the weekly RCS newsletter and other school-wide email communications
  • Write, edit, and send event promotions, fundraising updates, and alumni and donor communications
  • Maintain and update the RCS website (), including events, announcements, staff pages, and key messages
  • Maintain and update the RCS mobile app
  • Support public communications, including news releases and leadership messages
Social Media & Community Engagement
  • Create and manage content (text, photos, and videos) for RCS social media channels
  • Proactively share stories and updates related to students, alumni, volunteers, and fundraising initiatives
  • Seek opportunities for media coverage and community visibility
  • Provide real-time coverage of key events and campaigns
  • Respond to inquiries on social media platforms
  • Ensure all content reflects RCS branding, values, and tone
Branding, Marketing & Event Communications
  • Design and update promotional and campaign materials, including emails, posters, programs, signage, and digital graphics
  • Ensure consistent branding across all communications
  • Design and coordinate printing of RCS-branded promotional materials, including (but not limited to):
  • Vector graphic designs for apparel (t-shirts, hoodies, caps, etc.)
  • Teacher recruitment pamphlets and profiles
  • RCS branding style sheets and templates (logos, letterheads, etc.)
Event Promotion & On-Site Support
  • Support the Development Team before and during major fundraising and community events by providing:
  • Event promotion and reminder communications
  • Registration and check-in materials
  • Programs, signage, and digital displays
  • On-site communications support (announcements, slides, social media, and photography)
  • Post-event thank-you messages and follow-up communications
Qualifications & Skills
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in communications or marketing (school or nonprofit experience preferred)
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience managing digital communication platforms and social media
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Design skills (e.g., Canva, or similar) are an asset
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent design platforms is required
