Walk‑In Service: – Out of Hours Urgent Care (GMED) – Aberdeen Health Village
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic and responsive urgent care service, part of a national pilot programme funded by the Scottish Government. This role requires confidence working autonomously in a fast‑paced urgent care environment and a strong commitment to service development.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral for patients across all age groups presenting with undifferentiated illness, minor and major injury, and urgent medical conditions.
- Deliver high‑quality, safe and person‑centred care while working closely with GP colleagues, the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and the multidisciplinary team.
- Practice with a high level of clinical autonomy, supported by evidence‑based practice, NHS Grampian policies and professional guidelines.
- Play an active role in service development, audit, education and clinical leadership within the Walk‑In Service.
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
- Degree level education, with Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or evidence of Master’s‑level practice.
- Independent prescribing and advanced clinical assessment skills.
- Experience working in urgent care, primary care, minor injury or equivalent settings.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend shifts.
Posts available: 0.5 WTE (18.5 hours per week).
Location:
Aberdeen Health Village.
Contract:
Fixed term (12 months).
Enhanced pay rates apply for agreed evening and weekend working.
