Quality Control Microbiology Technician

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform routine microbiological testing of pharmaceutical/nutraceutical raw material and finished products
• Report to QC Supervisor and QA manager if there are any out-of-specification results.
• Ensure all analytical results and documentation are of high quality and generated in a timely fashion that complies with GMP regulations and data integrity/traceability requirements.
• Prepare or review assigned protocols, standard test methods or relative SOPs.
• Plan and perform analytical tasks according to priorities
• Critically review data and recommend further action
• Perform all tasks in accordance with local policies (e.g. microbiological waste disposal) and SOPs.
• Performs Environmental Monitoring of facility on monthly basis and writes a report.
• Keep lab clean, instruments calibrated, manage laboratory inventory and order all suppliers needed
• Perform appropriate QC Lab relative duties as assigned by supervisor or management
• Prepare media for the growth promotion test.

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline of science (microbiology, biochemistry, biology or related) or specific training (pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, nutritional research or related)
• Two or more years of laboratory experience preferably in pharmaceutical/nutraceutical or biotechnology-related industry
• Advanced knowledge/understanding of GMP and GDP
• Knowledge of US FDA guidelines for manufacturing/packaging of pharmaceutical/nutraceutical products as well as USP chapters 60, 61, 2021 and 2022
