Lead coffee sensory evaluation and food safety at Canterbury Coffee, using SQF expertise and quality systems to protect product integrity.
As Coffee Quality and Innovation Manager, you will lead coffee quality, sensory, food safety, and quality management programs. You will oversee standards from green coffee through finished product, partnering with Green Coffee Sourcing and Roasting. The role combines sensory judgment, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead cupping standards, sensory protocols, calibration, and cup-quality expectations
- Own SQF, HACCP, GMP, traceability, recall, and food defence programs
- Verify SOPs, sanitation standards, and process controls
- Lead audits, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement
- Coach QA staff and oversee quality program execution
- Four-plus years in food or beverage manufacturing quality
- Experience leading QA staff and improving quality systems
- Strong SQF, HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and traceability knowledge
- Audit, CAPA, risk assessment, and change-control experience
- Strong coffee cupping and sensory evaluation capabilities
