Position Overview

Security Guard – Part‑time position at a hospital in Richmond Hill, ON. Pay starts at $20.00 per hour.

• Conduct regular patrols of hospital grounds including entrances, exits, hallways, patient‑care units, and parking areas.
• Deliver exceptional customer service/concierge service by greeting and assisting patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism, empathy, and respect.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted.
• Operate security cameras, surveillance, and alarm systems;escalate suspicious activity immediately.
• Respond to emergencies including medical codes, fire alarms, Code Whites, and security threats.
• Support healthcare staff during crisis interventions, patient‑care situations, and evacuations.
• De‑escalate tense situations with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
• Document incidents, daily activities, and investigations in accurate and detailed reports.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, volunteers, and law enforcement when required.
• Enforce hospital safety policies, emergency codes, and departmental procedures.
• Demonstrate solid communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills in stressful situations.
• Participate in hospital and Executek safety programs, training, and debriefings.

• Possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License & CPR First Aid Certification Level

• Minimum 1 year experience in the field of security (hospital/healthcare strongly preferred).
• Proof of full COVID‑19 vaccination (2 doses).
• Immunization records: MMR, Varicella, and 2‑step TB skin test.
• Previous experience with report writing.
• Flexible in schedule – Days, Nights, Afternoons, & Holidays.
• Eligible to work in Canada.
• Capability to provide high‑quality customer service and maintain a high standard of service.
• Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
• Strong work ethic with commitment to your team.
• Alert – a good security guard is always alert and aware of his surroundings.
• Great physical fitness – a positive officer needs to portray a clean professional image.

• Use of Force certificate.
• Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) certificate.

Saturday and Sunday: 0800 – 2000. Flexible availability required for days, nights, afternoons, and holidays.
