Overview

A Communication Foreman I is responsible for the installation of communications cabling and equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and standards. As a Foreman, you should have work experience installing equipment involving hand tools and power tools, a basic understanding of Telecom Systems, blueprints, and knowledge of codes and standards. Telecom Foremen are full-time employees with company benefits.

Job Responsibilities
  • Knowledge and safe use of hand tools and various power tools.
  • Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Following safety policies and procedures.
  • Participating in daily safety and work briefings.
  • Installing various types of low voltage cables.
  • Managing small to large projects with 5+ personnel.
  • Consulting with management to resolve work procedures and construction issues.
  • Scheduling projects to meet deadlines.
  • Interpreting and explaining plans to field workers.
  • Terminating, testing, and troubleshooting low voltage cabling (Fiber Optics, Cat 5, Cat
    6).
  • Installing pathways and cable trays.
  • Installing telecommunications devices and grounding systems.
  • Training and supervising technicians/apprentices in cable installation.
  • Performing quality assurance checks.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment and securing tools and materials.
  • Travel up to 25%, including domestic and international.
  • Qualifications and Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in the commercial communications industry.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Passing background check and drug test.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Punctuality, teamwork, and safety focus.
  • Proper attire (long pants and shirts covering shoulders).
  • Providing basic tools as per the tool list.
  • Physical Abilities
  • Lifting at least 100 pounds, 60 pounds for extended periods.
  • Handling ladders and working at heights up to 60 feet.
  • Climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.
  • Performing routine physical activities and recognizing issues.
  • Visual and auditory acuity, with good communication skills in English.
  • Desired Skills
  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
