Richmond is a diverse ‘young’ city thriving with families in all stages of life. It is located just south of Vancouver, BC. Richmond Early Childhood Mental Health Program (RECMHP) is located in the Child Health Centre of Richmond Hospital. It is co-located with Pediatrics and Maternity. RECMHP is a community-based public mental health service for children 0 to 6 years of age with significant emotional and/or behavioural problems.
RECHMP team members function together as a “Working Group”, with an expectancy to collaborate reflectively.
RECMHP is closely linked to the UBC Faculty of Medicine and innovates and collaborates in educational and research projects.
As a Child Psychiatrist (Early Childhood) with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will
- Have a strong knowledge base in medication management and psychotherapeutic modalities.
- Be involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation of new programs and will participate in the training and education of medical students, residents and other allied health professionals.
- Collaborate with other community service providers, such as teachers and school counsellors.
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Full
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
- A good knowledge of child relational/developmental/psycho therapeutic theory and practice is essential.
