In this permanent, in-person role, you will work closely with youth and their families to help them achieve personal goals and navigate complex systems. This position emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally safe practices and inclusion of the LGBTQ2S+ community. You'll support recovery strategies, advocate for youth, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish purposeful relationships with youth and families
• Advocate for youth at appointments when requested
• Facilitate or co-facilitate support groups as needed
• Document and maintain related records accurately
• Engage youth in focus groups and workshops
Requirements:
• Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
• One year experience working with youth facing mental health issues
• Completion of recognized Youth Peer Support Training
• Lived understanding of equity and diversity practices
• Strong communication and organizational skills
Support youth in achieving their goals and navigating challenges as part of Richmond School District’s ICY team.
