The Richmond School District seeks a dedicated Peer Support Worker to become part of the ICY team. In this role, you will leverage your lived experiences to provide emotional support, facilitate resource navigation, and promote active youth participation in community activities. Your empathetic and organized approach will help cultivate a non-judgmental environment for young people.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish respectful relationships with youth and families
• Provide trauma-informed, culturally safe support
• Facilitate or co-facilitate youth and family groups
• Advocate for youth and accompany them to appointments
• Complete documentation and maintain related records
Requirements:
• Grade 12 graduation with relevant experience
• Completion of recognized Peer Support Training Program
• Lived experience with mental illness or substance use
• Strong communication and crisis intervention skills
• Basic computer proficiency and valid driver's license
Use your expertise in youth support to advocate for positive change and independence within the Richmond School District.
