Junior Software Developer

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Junior Software Developer who will help to evolve and stabilize the organization's platforms while enabling high-confidence delivery paths that elevate stakeholder experience, reduce risk, and avoid unnecessary cost across the organization. You will work closely with the engineering communities, product teams, and AI-assisted enablement services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and has a passion for modern software practices.

• Support and enhance business-critical applications, ensuring reliable and secure operation across environments.
• Troubleshoot incidents with discipline and ownership, restoring service swiftly and preventing recurrence.
• Implement technology upgrades that improve stability, performance, and maintainability.
• Contribute to application modernization initiatives, including migration to modern frameworks, cloud native patterns, and improved engineering standards.
• Collaborate with AI agents, including Git Hub Copilot and other intelligent assistants, to accelerate research, documentation, prototyping, and modernization activities.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and engineering communities of practice.
• Contribute to the creation of paved roads, reusable patterns, and engineering accelerators that uplift the broader community.

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math), or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of recent work experience as a software developer
• Visual Studio and the Microsoft development ecosystem.
• C# and the .NET platform for application and backend development.
• Modern source control workflows using Git.
