Intermediate AI Engineer

Job Description

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking an Intermediate AI Engineer who is responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise AI applications, intelligent automation solutions, and AI-enabled services. The role focuses on hands‑on development using modern AI platforms, large language models, agentic AI frameworks, cloud technologies, APIs, and software engineering best practices.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications and intelligent automation solutions.
• Develop AI workflows using agentic AI frameworks and orchestration platforms.
• Build integrations with enterprise systems, APIs, cloud services, development pipelines, and operational platforms.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and knowledge retrieval capabilities.
• Develop prompts, agents, workflows, interaction models, and reusable AI components.
• Create software services, APIs, and application components aligned with defined solution designs.
• Implement automated testing, quality assurance, and validation processes.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering reviews.
• Support deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancement activities.
• Produce technical documentation, implementation notes, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Contribute to AI governance, security, and operational best practices.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development using technologies such as C#, .NET, Python, Java, JavaScript/Type Script, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience developing AI, Machine Learning, or Generative AI solutions.
• Demonstrated experience with AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Amazon Bedrock, or equivalent.
• Experience using AI development frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, Lang Chain, Lang Graph, Auto Gen, CrewAI, or similar frameworks.
• Experience implementing agentic AI solutions, AI assistants, workflow automation, or conversational AI applications.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, cloud-native development, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience implementing RAG solutions, vector databases, embeddings, or knowledge retrieval capabilities.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP;
  Git-based development; CI/CD pipelines; and agile delivery methodologies.
• Understanding of software engineering principles, application security, secure development practices, testing, and quality assurance.

• Experience developing enterprise AI solutions in production environments.
• Experience implementing agentic AI and multi‑agent applications.
• Experience with AI observability, evaluation, and monitoring tools.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with ITSM, Dev Ops, cybersecurity, or workflow platforms.
• Experience in large enterprise, public sector, or regulated environments.
• AI, cloud, or software engineering certifications.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI and AI governance principles.
• Experience working in agile and cross‑functional delivery teams.
