This Deckhand role supports the tug and barge operations team under the guidance of a tug Master. If you have BC coastal experience, a valid marine medical certificate, and a positive, collaborative attitude, this job offers you a chance to enhance your marine industry career while enjoying competitive pay.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform general deck duties under tug Master supervision
• Handle deck lines, couplers, and towing gear
• Maintain ship cleanliness and assist in food prep
• Participate in tandem towing operations and look out duties
• Execute helmsman responsibilities when required
Requirements:
• Prior experience on tugboats is essential
• Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical Certificate
• Basic Safety Training and Survival Craft proficiency
• Positive attitude with teamwork skills
• Physically fit for heavy lifting and repetitive tasks
