Primary Responsibilities

This interview position involves transporting freight to and from stations and hub facilities, as well as the pickup and delivery of large skidded freight and multiple-piece skidded shipments in a safe and responsible manner with a sense of urgency. Responsibilities also include the regular operation of power material‑handling equipment for proper loading, weight balancing, and sequencing of unit loading devices.

• High school diploma
• Twelve (12) months heavy‑vehicle driving experience preferred
• Class AZ (Class 1) driver’s license with a good driving record required
• Air‑brake certification required
• Class 1 in the Province of Quebec (includes air‑brake certification)
• Certified and current in dangerous‑goods handling, operation of material‑handling equipment, ULD inspection to test FAA airworthiness, and t‑stacking
• Ability to pass regular Provincial Transportation physicals and written tests
• Ability to comply with new FAST (US customs regulations/criminal background check) regulations
• Proficiency in completing TORTES applications as required
• For drivers with Pickup & Delivery (PUD) responsibilities, proficiency with PUD processes and all standard customs paperwork as outlined in the Courier training manual (required within the first 90 days of entering a PUD position or as scheduled by management)
• Drug and alcohol testing may be required for drivers of company vehicles due to regulatory and cross‑border requirements; pre‑hire testing is mandatory for DOT cross‑border drivers
• Certification by an accredited driver‑training institution of the company’s choosing
• Professional driving ability
• Broad (intra‑provincial) geographical knowledge
• Knowledge of inter‑provincial regulations
• Ability to read and interpret maps
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and relevant contacts, especially during off‑peak hours
• Mechanical aptitude
• Thorough understanding of ramp procedures
• Knowledge of TORTES, FAMIS, and other Windows‑based applications
• Cosmos experience is an asset
• Customer service skills
• Ability to multitask
• Organizational skills, especially on the road
• Analytical ability
• Effective communication with hub, station facility management, and dispatch
• Receptive and adaptable to change

Les titulaires au Québec doivent être bilingues (français et anglais). En plus des critères habituels de sélection, les candidats aux postes exigeant la conduite comme compétence fondamentale doivent détenir un permis valide (ex. classe 5, G ou 1[AZ]) et présenter un dossier ne comportant pas plus de deux infractions et/ou accidents dans les 24 mois précédant la candidature. Les candidats seront également évalués selon :
1) leur relevé annuel de conduite ;
2) leur performance en entrevue ; et
3) leurs résultats aux évaluations de conduite administrées.
