Position Overview

The Director, Network Planning will lead the design and optimization of our nationwide last‑mile logistics network. This role manages a team responsible for developing scalable network strategies that support the company's business growth across the United States.

The ideal candidate will leverage data‑driven insights to design efficient warehouse and transportation networks, optimize delivery service levels, and ensure the network can scale effectively as parcel volume grows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and optimization of the company's nationwide logistics network, including distribution centers, hubs, and last‑mile stations.
  • Develop long‑term strategies for facility location planning, coverage areas, and network structure to support business expansion.
  • Evaluate new facility opportunities and support site selection and network expansion decisions.
Service Level & Transit Time Planning
  • Design and optimize delivery service level strategies across the network.
  • Develop transit time models and service coverage plans to ensure competitive delivery performance.
  • Work closely with Operations and Transportation teams to ensure network design aligns with operational capabilities.
Capacity Planning
  • Forecast parcel volume growth and develop network capacity planning strategies.
  • Ensure distribution centers and transportation lanes have sufficient capacity to handle both normal operations and peak season demand.
  • Identify capacity bottlenecks and recommend infrastructure or operational solutions.
  • Develop and oversee linehaul transportation strategy between hubs and distribution centers.
  • Establish routing frameworks that optimize transit time, network throughput, and transportation cost at a network level.
  • Continuously evaluate network‑wide routing performance and direct optimization initiatives as the network evolves.
Network Expansion & Market Coverage
  • Support market expansion initiatives by identifying optimal network configurations for new regions.
  • Develop scalable network solutions to support new station launches and geographic expansion.
  • Utilize data analytics and network modeling tools to evaluate network performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze key metrics including service coverage, transit time, network throughput, cost per parcel.
  • Provide insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ensure network planning activities and transportation operations comply with applicable transportation regulations and operational standards.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures governing the safe and compliant movement of goods across the network.
  • Oversee transportation service scheduling and dispatch coordination across distribution hubs and last‑mile stations to ensure network‑wide service integrity.
  • Control the departmental budget, including resource allocation, vendor costs, and infrastructure investments.
  • Prepare network performance reports for senior management and recommend changes to network structure, schedules, and operational policies.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing network planning team responsible for network modeling and strategic planning.
  • Establish best practices for data analysis, network modeling, and planning methodologies.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management for team members.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sortation, Transportation, and Technology teams to ensure alignment between network planning and operational execution.
  • Support major initiatives including network launches, automation projects, and peak season planning.

Schedule

8 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Term of Employment

Full‑time, Permanent.

Vacation

4% of your annual gross salary as vacation pay and 2 weeks of vacation time per year upon completion of 12 months of consecutive employment.
