Sort freight accurately at Purolator’s Richmond distribution center using scanning, conveyors, and material-handling equipment. Work Saturday through Wednesday afternoons.
The PM Sorter separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules. Responsibilities include unloading trucks, loading trailers, preloading delivery vehicles, transferring non-conveyable items, and scanning shipments. No experience or specialized education is required, and Purolator provides forklift and power pallet jack training.
Key Responsibilities:- Sort freight by destination, weight, size, and shape
- Unload freight from curbside trucks onto conveyors
- Load freight into linehaul trucks, cube trucks, or trailers
- Preload mail and packages into delivery vehicles
- Scan shipments and identify improperly sorted packages
- No previous experience required for this warehouse position
- Specialized education is not required
- Forklift certification is an asset, not required
- Power pallet jack certification is an asset, not required
- English proficiency is required for workplace communications
