About the RoleThe Corporate Accountant will provide full‑cycle accounting support across multiple corporate, property, investment, and holding entities. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for financial reporting, intercompany accounting, property accounting, reconciliations, and compliance activities while ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting- Perform full‑cycle accounting including transaction processing and intercompany reconciliations
- Complete bank reconciliations and monthly cash projections
- Process HST returns and support CRA audit requests
- Prepare year‑end working papers and liaise with external accounting firms
- Ensure vendor payments are processed in accordance with company procedures
- Prepare and issue monthly management fee invoices
- Calculate and process project cost recoveries
- Reconcile payroll‑related transactions and union recoveries
- Coordinate collection of recoverable amounts from project entities
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances
- Prepare monthly journal entries for equity contributions and distributions
- Assist with intercompany settlements and account reconciliation
- Maintain rent rolls and oversee rent collection and deposits
- Set up leases and tenant information within the ERP system
- Prepare operating cost and tax recovery adjustments
- Process tenant chargebacks where applicable
- Maintain organized documentation and records in accordance with company policy
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to support operational and financial decisions
- Support additional accounting and reporting tasks as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or accounting designation
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a multi‑entity accounting environment
- Experience with in the development or homebuilding industry is considered an asset
- Experience with Newstar Enterprise is an asset
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
