Your future role

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the production of professional services that will ultimately provide the expertise required to meet our client needs. The PM directs projects through the proper steps from start to finish and will be responsible for efficiency, timelines, quality, and ultimately, client satisfaction. The PM is also responsible for clear and prompt communication with the client throughout the life of a project and keeping the Account Manager informed.

  • Heavy Civil & Infrastructure IQ:
    Deep understanding of how complex infrastructure is constructed, with direct experience surveying and managing highway paving projects, bridges, heavy and light rail, and water mains.
  • Advanced Construction Surveying

    Experience:

    Specialized, hands‑on knowledge in construction surveying layout, control networks, and high‑precision measurement protocols.
  • Field Crew Direction & Output Management:
    Proven ability to direct multiple field crews on precise technical scope (instructing them on what to execute on‑site) and actively managing their daily field output, technical accuracy, and overall productivity (logistical crew dispatch is coordinated by supporting staff).
  • High‑Stress & Fast‑Paced Adaptability:
    Highly disciplined organization with a track record of successfully navigating rapid, high‑pressure requests and shifting priorities from demanding construction contractors.
  • On‑Site Solution Finder: A proactive problem‑solver who can identify field discrepancies, resolve plan conflicts, and implement decisive solutions on‑site to keep construction moving.
  • Cross‑Industry Knowledge:
    General knowledge of the overall industries intersecting with surveying, including vertical building, municipal planning, civil engineering, and underground utilities.
  • Humility & Leadership Self‑Awareness:
    The maturity and professional self‑awareness to determine when an assigned project exceeds your current technical skillset and refer/collaborate with the appropriate internal Project Manager to ensure client success.
Preferred Qualifications & Assets (Not required, but highly valued)
  • Specialized Monitoring

    Experience:

    Direct experience or technical knowledge in high‑precision settlement monitoring, deformation monitoring, 3D structural monitoring, and vibration analysis.
  • Established Industry Connections:
    Ability to leverage or quickly establish professional networks and relationships with major GTA general contractors, developers, or public agencies (such as Metrolinx, MTO).
  • Professional Credentials: A professional designation such as an OLS (Ontario Land Surveyor), P.Eng. (Professional Engineer), or PMP (Project Management Professional) is considered a strong asset.
  • Advanced Survey Software & Technology:
    Exposure to high‑end data workflow systems, 3D laser scanning (LiDAR), UAV photogrammetry, or specialized CAD/processing software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro Station, or Trimble Business Center).
Your Responsibilities

The Project Manager will be responsible for developing/maintaining strong relationships with construction company site superintendents.

    Projects need to have a defined Scope of Work (SOW), and this must be broken down and managed through a series of actions to be accomplished.
