Position Summary

Assistwithidentifyingor verifying required maintenance work, interpreting contracts,schedulingand coordinating in-houseor sub-contractor work and ensuring work meets contract specifications.

Assistswith ensuring all aspects of thecontract are coordinated and completed ina timely, efficient,effectiveand profitable manner.

The pay range for this position is $27.50-$29.50 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.

Primary Dutiesand Responsibilities

Ensureservicesprovidedareincompliancewithapprovedperformancestandards

Performconditionassessmentsofpavements,signs,guardrails,bridges,vegetationandothercontractrequirements.

Assistwith scheduling and coordinating work to be performed.

Completepaperworkperformedbyensurecompliancewithcontractrequirements

Developandmanageperformanceofallpatrolstaff

Assistwithmanaging,monitoringandcontrollinghighwayprojectassetsandmaterials

Identifyopportunitiesforchangesandimprovementsinworkmethods,processes,efficiencyandcostreduction

Accurateandtimelycompletionandentryofworkreportingandtimesheets

Purchasesuppliesandmaintaininganinventoryofallsupplieswithintheassignedpatrolarea

Coordinateandtrackallrequirednewhiretrainingandongoingrequiredsafetyandworkstandardtraining

Assistwithinspection,calibrationandrepairoffleet

Investigateandreportallaccidents/incidents

Workwith Office Managerand Healthand Safety Mangeronallaccident /incidentsthatresultinWSIBclaim

Responsibleforcompletingandupdatingschedulesforwinterstafftoensurecomplianceofthe Collective Agreement .

Allotherdutiesasassigned

Knowledgeofbasicmathfunctionsandcalculations(add,subtract,multiplydivide,andcalculateproportions,percentages, measurements, proportions, percentages,areaand circumference).

Abilitytothinkclearlyandfocusonyoursafetyinyourimmediatesurroundings,whileusingtoolsand equipment, while driving or operating equipment.

Educationand Experience

High School Diploma (minimum),equivalentworkexperiencewillbetakenintoconsideration

Minimumthreeyears’workexperienceinconstructionand/orroadmaintenanceindustry(preferred).

Validdriver’slicenseandhaveanacceptabledrivingrecord(required)

Work Environment:

Theincumbentwillsplitworkingtimebetweenofficeandfieldwork.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weatherconditions including extreme heat and cold.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/orhumidconditions;highprecariousplaces;fumeorairborneparticles.

Occasionalexposuretotoxicorcaustic chemicals, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes high.
