Position Summary

Assistwithidentifyingor verifying required maintenance work, interpreting contracts,schedulingand coordinating in-houseor sub-contractor work and ensuring work meets contract specifications.

Assistswith ensuring all aspects of thecontract are coordinated and completed ina timely, efficient,effectiveand profitable manner.

The pay range for this position is $27.50-$29.50 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.

Primary Dutiesand Responsibilities

  • Ensureservicesprovidedareincompliancewithapprovedperformancestandards

  • Performconditionassessmentsofpavements,signs,guardrails,bridges,vegetationandothercontractrequirements.

    Assistwith scheduling and coordinating work to be performed.

  • Completepaperworkperformedbyensurecompliancewithcontractrequirements

  • Developandmanageperformanceofallpatrolstaff

  • Assistwithmanaging,monitoringandcontrollinghighwayprojectassetsandmaterials

  • Identifyopportunitiesforchangesandimprovementsinworkmethods,processes,efficiencyandcostreduction

  • Accurateandtimelycompletionandentryofworkreportingandtimesheets

  • Purchasesuppliesandmaintaininganinventoryofallsupplieswithintheassignedpatrolarea

  • Coordinateandtrackallrequirednewhiretrainingandongoingrequiredsafetyandworkstandardtraining

  • Assistwithinspection,calibrationandrepairoffleet

  • Investigateandreportallaccidents/incidents

  • Workwith Office Managerand Healthand Safety Mangeronallaccident /incidentsthatresultinWSIBclaim

  • Responsibleforcompletingandupdatingschedulesforwinterstafftoensurecomplianceofthe Collective Agreement .

  • Allotherdutiesasassigned

  • Knowledge,Skills&Abilities

  • Knowledgeofbasicmathfunctionsandcalculations(add,subtract,multiplydivide,andcalculateproportions,percentages, measurements, proportions, percentages,areaand circumference).

  • Abilitytoread,analyze,andinterpretgeneralbusinessdocuments,technicalproceduresandcontracts.

  • Abilitytopresentinformationandrespondtoquestionsfrommanagers,clients,customers,andthegeneralpublic

  • Abilitytomultitask,useresourceseffectivelyandmeetscheduleddeadlines.

  • ProficiencyinMSOffice Suiteandfamiliaritywiththe Internet .

  • Ability to communicate with co-workers/subcontractors, understand and follow verbal and written safetyinstructions.

    Abilitytothinkclearlyandfocusonyoursafetyinyourimmediatesurroundings,whileusingtoolsand equipment, while driving or operating equipment.

  • Educationand Experience

  • High School Diploma (minimum),equivalentworkexperiencewillbetakenintoconsideration

  • Minimumthreeyears’workexperienceinconstructionand/orroadmaintenanceindustry(preferred).

  • Validdriver’slicenseandhaveanacceptabledrivingrecord(required)

    Occasionalexposuretotoxicorcaustic chemicals, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes high.
