Overview
Join Oxford Learning Richmond Hill North as a part-time French teacher/tutor/coach. Help students turn “Je ne sais pas” into “Oh la la” and support children’s French education outside the classroom. We teach students how to learn French in a small-group setting with provided curriculum.
Class sizes are small, with a maximum of three students per teacher. We provide all curriculum and lessons; teachers do not need to lesson plan. Teachers explain and guide students through the material and help students talk about their understanding.
Responsibilities (Position Details)- Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teach online and in-person
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Fill in post-lesson notes
- Complete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
- Help students develop self-confidence and self-esteem
- Smiles, high-fives, and rewarding student interactions

This role is in-person and requires commuting to the Richmond Hill North location. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Schedule- Evenings
- Monday and Wednesday 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Saturdays 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
$18 – $20 per hour
Employment Type- Part-time
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience may be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 French core curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9–12 level (or equivalent)
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and work with up to three students at a time
