About

Our client is a well-established residential and commercial development firm with a reputation for building high-quality communities across Ontario. They are looking for a dedicated Civil Engineer to join their close-knit team in King City. In this role, you will take ownership of civil engineering elements across diverse land development projects guiding them smoothly from preliminary concepts through municipal approvals and active construction.

If you are a collaborative engineer who thrives when balancing technical design with practical construction problem-solving, this is a fantastic environment to grow your career.

What You Will Do Day-to-Day
  • Lead Civil Designs: Execute civil engineering designs specifically for residential and commercial land development layouts.
  • Deliver Technical Assets: Prepare essential project deliverables, including detailed grading plans, servicing blueprints, technical specifications, engineering reports, and tender packages.
  • Design Core Infrastructure: Own the structural design of critical site features, covering stormwater management systems, site servicing, drainage, and septic systems.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Coordinate and integrate project inputs from cross-functional partners including architects, surveyors, urban planners, and general contractors.
  • Navigate Regulatory Approvals: Act as a key point of contact to liaise with Ontario municipalities, conservation authorities, and utility providers to secure necessary permits.
  • Ensure Compliance: Keep all designs fully aligned with provincial standards, local municipal guidelines, and the Ontario Building Code.
  • Provide Site Support: Conduct regular site visits and field inspections to monitor construction milestones, resolve unexpected field changes, and answer design RFIs.
What You Bring to the Team
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional License: Current, valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
  • Industry Background: Strong foundational experience in land development (residential/commercial design) or construction engineering.
  • Software Mastery: Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for land grading, servicing, and stormwater design.
  • Approval Process Knowledge: A clear understanding of Ontario municipal approval workflows and engineering protocols.
  • Mobility: A valid Ontario driver's licence and a reliable vehicle to travel out to active project sites.
  • Asset: A PMP certification is highly valued but not required.
