Senior Financial Accountant in Waterloo

Elevate your career as a Senior Financial Accountant in Asset Management with an established financial services organization in Waterloo Region. This contract role emphasizes monthly finance activities and strategic accounting initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Accounting & Controls, you will support legal entity accounting, financial reporting, and controls. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to drive financial results while overseeing monthly and quarterly finance activities. This role is crucial for maintaining an effective financial control environment and implementing accounting models across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate monthly and quarterly finance close processes

• Support equity-based compensation accounting and reporting

• Maintain financial controls across subsidiaries

• Analyze profit and loss with business stakeholders

• Lead strategic finance initiatives including IFRS 18 implementation

Requirements:

• CPA designation with a related degree or equivalent experience

• 6-9 years in financial management roles

• Strong experience in financial reporting and controls

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Proficiency in Excel and experience with SAP, Tableau
