- Prepare and package medications as per Pharmacy Standards of Practice, ensuring all relevant information and documentation is complete
- Accurately enter and maintain data within applicable systems
- Prioritize prescriptions in accordance with workflow
- Resolve technical issues by contacting IT Service Desk as required
- Prepare each prescription quickly and accurately
- Prepare prescriptions for delivery
- May be required to perform inventory management under the direction of the pharmacist
- Unpack and receive pharmacy totes inside the pharmacy in a secure environment
- Maintain proper storage of medications according to 5S principles
- Ensure stock bottles are put away according to established workflow
- Ensure narcotic inventory is accurately received and records updated under the supervision of a Pharmacist
- Put away received pharmacy inventory in appropriate locations
- Prioritize recalls and isolate product until details are provided
- Ensure stock rotation and removal of expired product per procedures
- Perform cycle counts according to SOPs
- Ensure regular replenishment of pharmacy drugs and supplies
- Operate and maintain automated dispensing equipment used to generate prescriptions
- Ensure machines have the necessary supply of medication within the dispensing unit
- Clean and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Read and act on communications (e.g., binder, board, email)
- Follow SOPs and pharmacist direction; comply with all legal requirements and bi-laws
- Comply with loss prevention policies and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of workspace according to 5S principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to navigate basic computer software
- Ability to prioritize work assignments
- Ability to adapt to change
- Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring high attention to detail
- Ability to work and move quickly for extended periods
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Positive, cooperative, and team-oriented attitude
- Previous Pharmacy Assistant experience preferred
