Cloud Engineer Manager

The Cloud Engineer Manager will lead the functionality, integrity, and effectiveness of our client’s cloud environment while managing a team focused on core cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Recommend cloud strategies to migrate on premise data centers to the cloud as appropriate, optimize cloud provider models and usage, and operational policies and procedures to support governance and controls for corporate system environments

• Support senior management with the development, evaluation, implementation and ongoing operation of technological initiatives

• Supports the design of detailed plans and approaches, as well as conducting critical reviews of new processes or processes that will integrate with existing solutions/infrastructure

• Understands current and future technical platform hardware, operating systems, and service layers

• Develop and maintain Information Technology (IT) asset strategic plans, including annual reports to senior management, that ensure all aspects of the department’s environment meet the existing and future

• Lead relationships with data center partners, vendors and the license management process

• Configures and deploys cloud services

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience in delivering cloud-based solutions with a team of cloud engineers

• 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in the use of AWS/Azure Cloud Platforms for services

• 5+ years of experience in System Support and Administration in an Enterprise environment, working experience with AWS/Azure Cloud Services

• Experience in strategic technology planning, execution and policy development

• Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including workflow development, access control platforms and associated policy management

• Working understanding of project management principles

• Working understanding of Product Lifecycle Management

• Proven experience in planning, organization and development

• Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud environments

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet and Tableau, etc.

This is a permanent hybrid role located in downtown Toronto.
