Position: Hearing Impaired Educational Interpreter Opportunity
Contribute to student success as an Educational Interpreter II for hearing impaired learners. This position requires skilled interpretation and effective communication in educational settings.

As part of Onslow County Schools, your main responsibility will involve providing interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You will be an essential link between students and educators, ensuring clear understanding and support throughout their educational experience. Required skills include mastery in interpreting and action during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication in educational environments

• Prepare thoroughly for lessons to ensure accuracy

• Support students with tutoring as needed

• Deliver feedback to teachers as requested

• Conduct sign language classes for peers and staff

Requirements:

• BA or higher in Educational Interpreting

• Certification from RID or NAD mandated

• 20 hours of approved interpreting training annually

• Interpersonal adeptness with students and staff

• Physical readiness to assist students during school activities
