Surgical Day Care Registered Practical Nurse

Enhance patient care at Schroeder Ambulatory Centre as a Registered Practical Nurse in Surgical Day Care and Procedures. Provide skilled support during surgical procedures while ensuring patient safety throughout all stages.

Reporting to the Manager of Surgical Day Care, you will care for patients before, during, and after surgical and procedural interventions.

Your role includes assisting with endoscopic procedures and monitoring patients' conditions, emphasizing safety and quality of care. Strong communication and critical thinking skills are essential for effective interactions with patients and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Care for patients pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively

• Assist physicians during endoscopic and other procedures

• Monitor, record, and report patient changes

• Utilize computerized systems for patient documentation

• Manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

• Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Minimum of 2-3 years endoscopy or acute care experience

• BCLS certification upon hire

• Proficiency in IV insertion preferred

• Strong organizational and time management skills
