Part Time Teller - Richmond Hill, GA at South State Bank

Summary/Objectives

A Teller has the responsibility to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position.

Essential Functions
  • Serves customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to the South State Bank Service Standards.
  • Knows and understands the products and services offered by the Bank, including facts, features, benefits, rules, and pricing.
  • Identifies customer needs and expectations, listening for clues, and seeks opportunities to expand customer relationships through referrals.
  • Presents a neat, professional appearance in accordance with bank policy.
  • Assesses and manages risks associated with job functions; ensures compliance with all banking regulations, including Regulation CC and the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Develops a strong understanding of customer-facing technology and can enroll customers in self-service options.
  • Performs teller duties:
  • Processes transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • Might assist in guiding and training new tellers.
  • Might allow customers access to safe deposit boxes.
  • Cashes checks and processes withdrawals within limits per procedures.
  • Sells certified checks within limits.
  • Balances transactions daily.
  • May service/balance ATM.
  • May utilize the branch capture system.
  • Follows policies and procedures to minimize operational errors and maintain workflow.
  • Knows and follows branch security and audit procedures, understanding the function of security devices.
Teller 1 Functions
  • 18 months or less experience
  • Teller duties
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Education, & Certification Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    Cash handling, sales, customer service. Previous banking experience preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills, computer skills, ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Training Requirements/Classes
  • The South State Way New Team Member Orientation
  • Teller Foundations
  • All assigned Regulatory Compliance Training
  • Acknowledgement of all policies through Docu Sign as assigned
  • Additional training may be required depending on experience.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and/or sit for long periods, access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers.
Work Environment

This position is most likely in an open lobby area with an individual workstation inside a cooled and heated facility.

Travel

Travel may be required to attend meetings or training as needed.
