The 5 Spot Richmond Hill is seeking an exceptional Line Cook to join the Heart‑of‑House team of a fast‑paced kitchen in a casual neighbourhood restaurant with a bar program. Work in a professional, responsive manner to create an exceptional dining experience for every guest with the goal of creating loyal, repeat customers. Cook meats, fish, vegetables, and other hot foods, and prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Perform other duties in the areas of food preparation and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing.

• Know all items on the menu.
• Understand and adhere to sanitation and cleanliness standards.
• Use industrial kitchen equipment.
• Maintain a safe, respectful working environment for staff and customers by following food‑handling and safety guidelines.
• Keep kitchen work areas clean and organized.
• Follow company operating policies and procedures.
• Support management decisions.

• Three years of kitchen experience preferred; on‑the‑job training provided for those with less experience who are ready to learn.
• Ability to stand on feet for 8 hours, lift up to 50 lbs., bend and reach.
• Ability to take direction.
• Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation.

• Starting pay of $18 per hour with opportunities for advancement based on predetermined benchmarks and scheduled performance evaluations.
