Customer Service Associate

Join the Family Dollar team as a Customer Service Associate I and help deliver a great shopping experience for every customer.

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Process sales transactions and operate the assigned cash register
• Maintain the security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, recover merchandise, and help with unloading trucks and restocking in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while interacting professionally and friendly with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Previous customer‑service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug‑store environment (highly preferred)
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents (required)
• Physical capability to lift and carry 30–50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting (required)
• Excellent customer service and relationship‑management skills (required)
• Strong organizational and communication skills (required)
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills (required)
