Sanitation Lead
This is a full‑time position at a refrigerated warehouse. The work week for this position is Monday‑Friday day shift. The Sanitation Lead will oversee a team of warehouse janitors in our large multi‑temperature warehouse. The position will be an integral part of the warehouse to accurately complete written cleaning schedules and cleaning documents for daily/weekly/monthly compliance.
Salary Range: $26.00‑$28.00 per hour
Specific Duties- Direct, plan, and monitor the general sanitation operations at the warehouse
- Manage sanitation technicians in their use of chemicals and proper safety procedures
- Effectively communicate sanitation policies, standards, and procedures
- Consult with management to follow and track sanitation metrics, standards, and budget
- Monitor efficiency of sanitation protocols through quantitative and qualitative methods
- Train sanitation employees and other personnel in safe work practices regarding sanitation techniques and procedures
- Check inventory levels of chemicals and order supplies when necessary
- Perform daily administrative duties, i.e., documentation, forms, emails, and work schedules
- Oversee the pest control program including vendor relationship
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and FDA standards by adhering to developed sanitation methods and procedures
- Develop and implement Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
- Perform audits of the sanitation process to monitor for compliance to the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards with regards to sanitary controls
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a sanitation role with at least 2 years of management/supervisory experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Email, and simple database applications
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, including the ability to work well in group problem‑solving situations
- Must have a strong command of the English language, both written and verbal. Bilingual (Spanish) is highly preferred
- Ability to make good judgments and decisions during their shift
- Ability to read and interpret documents (Operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals)
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
