This is NOT a driving or delivery role like rideshare or gig work - it's a professional support position where you'll be trained to work one-on-one with adults with developmental disabilities
, helping them learn key life skills.

Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructors work one-on-one with people with developmental disabilities to empower your clients to reach their personal goals of independence and community participation. You would teach independent living skills in a motivating, personalized, and professional environment.

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in achieving personal independence.
• Teach practical skills such as budgeting, basic cooking, transportation, and more.
• Manage money, medical, dental, medication management, basic cooking and meal preparation, utilize public transportation, locate affordable housing, obtain and maintain benefits (Social Security, Medi-Cal, Medicare, etc.), promote community involvement and socialization, and manage household maintenance.
• Drive to meet clients in their homes and community (reimbursed for mileage).

You will typically work with 3-6 clients per week in Alameda and possibly Contra Costa Counties
.

• Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license
• Personal auto liability insurance with minimum limits of $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident (bodily injury)
• Able to pass a DOJ/FBI fingerprint background check
• Desire to help others and learn new skills
• Comfortable driving to client locations (mileage reimbursed)
