About the Role

The Digital Analytics Manager owns the marketing‑related measurement, analysis, and optimization of the Eames Institute's digital properties, including eamesinstitute.org, , social channels, and more. Working in close partnership with the Director of Digital Development, Senior Marketing Manager, and cross‑functional teams, this role synthesizes data from web, ecommerce, social, and CRM platforms to support accurate, actionable insights into audience behavior, marketing performance, search visibility, and content effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
Analytics & Insights
  • Own web analytics infrastructure, data quality, and reporting across GA4, GTM, Looker Studio, and related platforms.
  • Deliver dashboards, reports, and ad‑hoc analyses that inform leadership, marketing, content, and product decisions.
  • Analyze user behavior, engagement, search, and conversion data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Provide data‑driven recommendations in collaboration with cross‑functional partners to improve site structure, content strategy, navigation, and user experience.
  • Integrate and interpret data from Shopify, Hub Spot, Meta, and other digital platforms to build a unified view of audience behavior, engagement, and conversion patterns and to track and report on KPIs.
  • Develop cross‑platform reporting that links website activity to outcomes such as email engagement, membership interest, and ecommerce behavior.
Search & Social Performance
  • Monitor and optimize technical and content SEO performance using tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush or Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify indexing issues, broken links, metadata gaps, and areas for improved internal linking or structured data.
  • Provide search‑optimized recommendations for new content, features, and site architecture changes.
  • Track keyword performance and audience discovery patterns to inform content planning.
  • Evaluate emerging AI‑powered search and discovery surfaces to recommend optimizations for structured, high‑authority content visibility.
  • Monitor and analyze social referral traffic, platform performance, and content engagement to inform content and distribution strategy.
Site Performance & User Experience
  • Monitor site performance metrics (Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile usability), collaborating with developers to address issues.
  • Evaluate user journey friction points and support A/B testing, UX refinements, and conversion optimization efforts.
  • Ensure analytics and tagging configurations accurately reflect user interactions and site features.
Technical & Operational Oversight
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for analytics‑related systems and integrations, including GA4, GTM, search tools, Meta and other social platform pixels/conversion APIs, and CRM analytics connections.
  • Maintain documentation of analytics configurations, tagging standards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal and external development partners to validate tracking on new pages, components, or features.
  • Stay updated on evolving analytics platforms, privacy standards, and measurement best practices.
Essential Functions
  • This position is expected to be primarily onsite at one of the Institute's three main properties (Petaluma, Richmond, or occasionally San Francisco), working Monday‑Friday 9‑5 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends per event schedule. Occasional lite travel may be required for company events or training.
