Fiscal and Revenue Services Director

Work in the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Genetic Disease Screening Program (GDSP) as the Director of the Fiscal and Revenue Services Section, overseeing Fiscal Services Unit (FSU) and Revenue Services Unit (RSU).

Pay Range: $7,872.00 - $9,781.00

Job Description And Duties:

  • Lead the division’s fiscal operations, including budget preparation, fund management, and revenue collection.
  • Supervise unit managers and administrative staff, ensuring compliance with state and departmental policies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to facilitate accurate fiscal analysis, timely billing and collections, and effective resource allocation.
  • Support the financial integrity and operational efficiency of GDSP programs.
  • Work under the direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) III, Assistant Division Director of GDSP.

  • Experience in budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and revenue reconciliation.
  • Strong collaboration across multiple areas to achieve shared fiscal and programmatic goals.
  • Understanding of EEO responsibilities in hiring and promotion.

Eligibility Information:

New to California State Service candidates must pass the classification examination. Current state employees without transfer or list eligibility must also complete the exam. Review the Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory) exam bulletin on Cal Careers.

Telework Information:

Eligible for up to three (3) telework days per week; must report in person at least two (2) days per week. Telework availability is at the discretion of the Department. Applicants must be California residents.

Business Travel:

Business travel may be required; reimbursement follows departmental policy.
