A day in this roleYou Start Your Shift With a Safety Huddle At Our Richmond Sulphuric Acid Facility. After Reviewing Work Orders In The CMMS, You Head To The Units
- Open and clean tank vessels, ensuring safe isolation and permitting.
- Rebuild rotating equipment — pumps, gearboxes, and motors — then perform precision alignment of couplings and sheaves.
- Execute certified welding, cutting, and burning to repair or fabricate components.
- Replace piping and valves, verify fit-up, and test for leaks.
- Tend to general plant upkeep so systems and grounds remain inspection-ready.
Before clocking out, you close out work orders, record preventive maintenance, and complete safety documentation — every step aligned with SOPs. When needed, you respond as part of the site’s emergency response team. Off-shift callouts can occur, including weekends and holidays, and you’ll work outdoors in all weather and at heights while wearing full PPE.
About You- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (chemical processing strongly preferred).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Comfortable using computers: MS Office, email, and a maintenance management system.
- Fluent reading of safety rules, O&M instructions, procedures, OEM literature, diagrams, and schematics.
- Ready for periodic emergency callouts during off-shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to work in all weather conditions and at heights with required PPE.
