Indiana University East Athletics – Assistant Soccer Coach
Indiana University (IU) East is a regional campus of Indiana University offering a broad range of bachelor’s degrees and selected master’s degrees and certificates through its traditional main campus in Richmond, off‑campus sites, and online program options. Responsibilities- Report directly to the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
- Support coaching operations and provide coaching and supervision in practices, skill instruction, and game‑day operations.
- Recruit student‑athletes by contacting prospective student‑athletes, coordinating campus visits, and attending events to promote IU East as an academic and athletic opportunity.
- Provide cross‑team support as a resource for other Athletic programs and offer temporary assistance at practices or matches as requested.
- Provide departmental assistance by supporting additional Athletic department operations and initiatives as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- One year of coaching soccer or collegiate playing experience required.
- College playing experience, goal‑keeping experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and first aid certification required; CPR certification preferred.
- Strong commitment to the student‑athlete concept and knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
- Proficient communication skills and ability to recruit, coach, and teach highly talented student‑athletes.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
- Certification in basic first aid required.
- American Heart Instructor Certification in CPR preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Mathematical proficiency: add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute ratios and percent, interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Adherence to all policies, rules, and regulations of the university, the River State Conference, and the NAIA.
- Ability to recruit, coach, and teach highly talented student‑athletes.
IU East Campus – 2325 Chester Boulevard, Richmond, Indiana. This is an in‑person position.
