The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization for patients receiving diagnostic services. This role involves collecting and processing high‑quality blood specimens
, ensuring accurate labeling, and maintaining professionalism throughout each patient interaction. The PSR II provides a reassuring experience for patients while adhering to strict safety, confidentiality, and quality standards. Successful candidates may work in patient service centers, physician offices, or other designated healthcare settings.
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing duties accurately and on schedule under the supervision of an area lead.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment that complies with all health and safety standards.
- Verify patient demographic data and confirm proper labeling post‑venipuncture in the patient’s presence.
- Maintain all required records and documentation in accordance with company policy.
- Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and a positive, patient‑centered attitude.
- Provide exceptional customer service while handling multiple priorities in a high‑volume environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
, including dress code, safety protocols, and compliance guidelines. - Exhibit flexibility for weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
- Maintain reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if required).
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience
, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. - Customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service industries preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency.
- Two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Familiarity with Epic or Quanum software systems.
- Experience working in multi‑site or high‑volume collection environments.
