Extruder Operator - Sheet Extrusion; D

The role involves efficiently controlling the operation of the extrusion line from raw material input to finished product, including machine set‑up, film and resin management, color concentrates, production speeds, and quality control checks. The position requires working the D shift (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Sunday, 6:45 pm to 7 am) with a $2.00/hour shift differential.

• Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse.
• Maintains the company’s quality standards and a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reporting unsafe conditions and incidents.
• Operates the extrusion line and its operational functions, which include machine set‑up, films and resins, color concentrates and/or additives, production speeds, start/stop functions, change‑overs, downtime, die and screw teardown, screen packs, line‑specific tools, and proper lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Ensures extruded product meets required gauge, length, width, bond strength, color, and surface finish, identifies surface defects, and performs required quality control tests, including double checks and data collection procedures.
• Transfers data to the daily production log book, quality control documents, or forms used in the production process.
• Follows the production schedule and related documents necessary to produce and meet customer orders, including those with instructions.
• Communicates line malfunctions in a timely manner to keep production downtime minimal.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1–2 years of experience or a forklift certification.
• Ability to read production tickets.
• Ability to work at an accelerated pace.
• Ability to perform math calculations and measure using measuring tape or other instruments.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; must be computer literate.
• Dedicated to continuous improvement.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, or stand for extended periods of time.
