Job Summary /Basic FunctionsThe ASL & Interpreter programs within the Department of Language, Cultural Studies, Anthropology & Sociology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a part‑time faculty position to teach ASL or Interpreter courses.
The courses may include, but are not limited to: ASL 390
Contrastive Analysis: ASL and English. (3 Credits) in a 100% online, synchronous format.
To be considered to teach undergraduate level courses, applicants should hold an earned Master's degree in Linguistics, ASL Teaching,or Interpretation from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution is required for consideration.
Preference for experience teaching post‑secondary linguistics usingASL as the language of instruction, particularly the linguistics ofsigned languages.
Part‑time faculty may teach up to nine credit hours, depending on departmental needs.
Applicants will be screened and contacted as departmental needs forpart‑time faculty arise. Applications will be accepted on anongoing basis.
Unofficial transcripts are acceptable at the time of application.
Official transcripts are required at the time of the position offerand as a condition of employment.
Education
:
Master's degree in Linguistics, ASL Teaching, or Interpretation from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution is required for consideration. Preference for experience teaching post-secondary linguistics using ASL as the language of instruction, particularly the linguistics of signed languages.
