Okonite is hiring an Industrial Engineer for our Richmond, KY location.

The Richmond, KY facility spans 915,000 square feet and is ideally located in the scenic Blue Grass region of Madison County.

• Process Improvements & Troubleshooting Aids
• Developing Process Specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Conduct time studies and performance capability assessments
• Create and maintain Direct Labor Cost Standards
• Champion Plant Utilization and Productivity Program – identify areas of efficiency and assist in improvement initiatives
• Lean Coordinator role championing 6S efforts
• Investigate & reduce Cost Variances
• Coordinate Plant Cost Reduction Program
• Justify, prepare, submit and track Capital Expenditures
• Collaborate with outside vendors to support a variety of projects
• Other productivity/plant projects as required

BS Engineering degree (IE, ME, or Mfg Eng preferred) with a minimum of 1+ year relevant manufacturing experience. Recent graduates with strong co‑op/internship experience will be considered. The position requires significant shop‑floor presence performing studies and project work. Ideal candidates will have experience in LEAN manufacturing techniques, time‑study methods, and an aptitude for problem solving.

• Strong mastery of Excel
• AutoCAD / some Solid Works experience
• Proficiency in stopwatch and/or video techniques for time studies

This highly visible role requires strong initiative, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders. Direct interaction with and training of workforce will be required. Successful candidates will possess a strong desire to champion programs and provide status and solutions to executive management.
