We operate online, in 35+ retail stores, and two manufacturing facilities in Lexington, KY and Winchester, VA. The Role

Manager, HR (Manufacturing) – a strategic HR Generalist focused on the unique needs of our manufacturing environment. The role blends employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and other HR responsibilities to attract, develop, retain, and manage a skilled workforce.

Location

On‑site, 5 days a week in Kentucky (Richmond & Stanton). Hours may fluctuate based on team and business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Support day‑to‑day HR functions including employee relations, onboarding, and health/safety.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and team members, providing clear, timely guidance on employee relations issues with empathy and sound judgment.
  • Lead fair, thorough investigations and drive consistent, values‑aligned outcomes that strengthen trust across the organization.
  • Identify behavioral, cultural, or process trends and partner with Ops/People leaders to recommend proactive solutions that prevent issues before they surface.
  • Coach managers on handling performance, conduct, and attendance matters in a transparent, respectful, and aligned manner.
  • Work closely with leadership to implement employee engagement, culture, and retention programs tailored to the manufacturing workforce.
  • Provide guidance on company policies, compliance, and procedures; recommend edits and improvements.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing concerns or conflicts.
  • Analyze key HR metrics (e.g., turnover by shift/department, absenteeism, safety incident rates, time‑to‑fill) to provide data‑driven insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Partner with the recruitment team to define talent needs, create attraction strategies, and support key roles from job description creation to candidate selection.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to build diverse, high‑performing teams.
  • Conduct on‑site interviews and host career fairs to maintain a healthy pipeline.
  • Oversee the performance management process: set goals, implement evaluations, facilitate ongoing feedback, and develop planning.
  • Identify trends and recommend initiatives to enhance employee engagement and productivity.
  • Recognize high performers and address performance gaps through coaching and support.
Key Qualifications
  • 5‑7 years of experience as an HR Practitioner and Generalist, including talent acquisition responsibilities.
  • 4‑5 years of HR experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that drive business results.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws, especially for nonexempt manufacturing populations.
  • Fluency in the manufacturing/production space to relate to and improve the employee experience.
  • Track record of building strong relationships with managers and employees at all organizational levels.
  • Analytical mindset coupled with knowledge of modern HR technologies, tools, and platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
  • Experience creating and improving HR policies that drive culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
