Job Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment including frontend loader, 12k forklift or smaller with rotator, bobcat and skid steer, following Sims safety regulations and golden rules.
  • Provide pre‑shift and end‑shift inspections and ensure greasing and daily upkeep of equipment and work areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance (lubricating, fueling, cleaning).
  • Complete inspection reports prior to using equipment.
  • Safely operate machinery under the direction of a shift supervisor or production manager (e.g., load trucks, pile scrap material, load/unload barges and rail cars).
  • Conduct end‑shift clean‑up and equipment inspection.
  • Regularly clean equipment to preserve its quality and functionality.
  • Commit to overall safety of the work environment.
  • Sweep and shovel residual waste from the process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum 12 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands described in the job.
